  • Are there any recent or anticipated changes in the structure of the organization (mergers, cutbacks)?
  • Can you describe a typical day in this role?
  • Do you encourage participation in community or professional activities?
  • Does your company require that I sign a non-compete agreement?
  • How are people evaluated in your organization?
  • How does the company intend to remain competitive?
  • How many women and minorities hold management positions in your company?
  • How soon can I expect to hear from you?
  • How will my success/performance be measured and how is successful performance usually rewarded?
  • How would you describe the growth and financial stability of the company, as well as its future growth possibilities?
  • How would you describe your company’s personality and management style?
  • How would you describe the work culture (do people work overtime, etc.)?
  • Is there a lot of team project work?
  • Identify a typical career path in your organization for someone with my qualifications.
  • To whom would I be reporting if I am hired? Tell me about the organizational structure.

  • What role does your company play in developing the employees? What type of training is available for someone in my potential position?
  • What specifically do you need me to accomplish in the first 30/60/90 days?
  • Where do you see this position leading over the next 2-3 years
  • Who directly supervises this position? What is his or her background? What’s he or she like? May I Why is the position open? Is this a new position or a replacement? What happened to the person who held it previously? Is there someone already employed by the firm who thinks they should have this position?
  • Will I have a written employment agreement?
  • Would it be possible to meet the people who work in the department?
  • Would the job description assigned to me be based on my interest areas?
  • Would you describe your organizational culture?
